My question is that if i put a 1g ported 14b turbo on my 2g auto, of course with all the appropriate install kits, will my stock ecu be able to control my fuel? The 1g 5spd w/ the 14b ran 450's, the 2g automatics run 450's as well correct? will my stock ecu handle the fuel?

I have a 14b non ported in my auto 2g, and its fine. No fuel mods also. I hit fuel cut at anything above 18psi.

You shouldn't hit fuel cut at 18psi unless you have some major boost leaks, I would look into that if I were you.

I have hit fuel cut at 20 psi on a 14b with a 255 high pressure and stock injectors so fuel cut at 18 psi with no fuel mods is very possible.

Fuel cut is air count dependent, nothing to do with your fuel system. Fuel cut occurs when air count exceeds the maximum amount the ecu is setup for, hence an eprom to remove fuel cut. On a stock fuel system, you will certainly hit fuel starvation before you would hit fuel cut, unless of course you have boost leak or a defective maf causing the air count to sky-rocket.

to make sure im reading this correctly 18psi on a 14b with rewired fuel pump should be fine.. for racing purposes anyways.

i know i ran 19psi on accident the other day after the 14b install and it ran fine the few times i got on it

No, how did you come to that conclusion from reading this thread? I would not go over 16psi on the stock fuel system, anything higher would require at least a logger.

I agree, don't bost more then 15psi on your stock system. Fuel cut occurs somewhere around 2.55g/rev. You won't be coming close to that kind of airflow at 15-16psi. The major concern I have with running higher boost then 15psi is fuel pump being over run. The 1g fuel pump flows about 10lb/min less then the 2g pump & I hit overrun on my 2g pump around 19psi with my 14b(my front o2/knock went from .96v/0deg @ 4750 to .82v/9deg 6000rpm)..

One thing to consider is that the ECU has diffrent enrichment values per REV/Airflow. For example, if your below 4500rpm the max enricment you can have is 45% once you reach 2.1g/rev & above 4500rpm it becomes 55%. I'm at work right now or I would figure out what IDC that would set your injectors at. I'd be willing to bet it's more then 100%...

FYI, I was hitting 99% IDC around 5000rpm on my 2g/14b on the stock factory enrichment @ 18-19psi before leaning things out 14% via dsmlink. Now I'm setting around 89% wich still isn't a very good idea but will have to do untill I can get larger ones.

If your going to get serious about performance, take Oldman's recomendation and at least get a loger....

i do not have a logger but 19psi was only ran on accident, 17psi was ran for a full day after the 14b was swapped into my AT 2g and had no problems with fuel cut off or anything. i have mine set at 16psi and no problems at all.

i was simply stating from my car.

As stated above several times, fuel cut is not triggered by running out of fuel, it's triggered by a spike in air count exceeding the MAX AIR count value pre-programed into the ECU, a value that is higher than what your stock fuel system can supply as scottsee demonstrated in his post. In other words, you can still run lean and blow your egine without hitting fuel cut. Fuel cut is designed to guard against runaway boost, not fuel starvation. Perhaps if we change both gas pedal and fuel cut to air pedal and air cut things wouldn't be so confusing.

Running 19psi without hitting fuel cut means nothing, until you hook up a logger you will not know how bad you were knocking due to possibly running out of fuel.

15psi is the safest? w/ only a rewired fuel pump.. correct.. man readin this again i feel dumb. wow

plan on really seeing what the 14b can do.

fmic is at house, safc and injectors(550s or 680s not sure yet) will be picked up this week, and evo8 MR fuel pump is on its way to house.
