Well, i just installed my a newer T25 on my talon today, replacing my old one which had broken fins and about 90k on it. Although the car seems to idle alot better the rest is bad news. The car sputters really bad at anything over 25% throttle and it also makes a distinct noise, "sort of a thud sound". Now here are some other issues. While intalling the manifold one of the bolts broke off in to the head. All of the others went off and on just fine. I talked to a mechanic already and he said without even looking at the car that it may be a fuel pressure problem?!?!?! Any help would be greatly appricieated.

well, i just found out that there is in fact a leak in the between the manifold and the head. I sprayed some soapy water on it and it bubbled pretty good. I checked a few other spots and didnt see anything. Im going to take it to get checked out tommorow mourning and also build a boost leak tester. If anyone has any other thoughts feel free to chime in. Im up for suggestions,

Make sure the mas plug has been reconnected and the all ic couplers have been tightened. A small leak between the head and manifold will only cause slow boost and a loss of power, but no effect with throttle position. My guess is also just a boost leak.

Out of curiousity, will it have negative affects on the car to drive it say... 400 miles with the intake mani missing that one stud, or any lon distance for that matter????

im sorry, i think i meant the exhaust manifold, right above the turbo in front?!?!?!

The quicker you get to that leak test and eliminate it as a possible cause, the quicker we can help you troubleshoot. Without eliminating it first, all other test results will be inconclusive.

Ok, some of you are going to get a kick out of this. After finding out that there was not a boost leak it was time to start replacing stuff. We figured it would be best to start with the cheaper parts first. In the midst of this we checked the spark plugs and they didnt look so hot. I switched them out with ngk plucs and accel wires. PROBLEM SOLVED. It just so happened that my plugs and wires took a S**T during my turbo replacement. All is well now. Thank you very much for your suggestions and replies. :thumb:
