Is a T3 turbo too small?

Their seem to be a lot of garret T3 turbos on Ebay for sale that are pretty cheap. They say that they would be perfect for an eclipse or honda and they look a lot bigger than my stock T25. I know that They would require some mods to fit on, but are the T3 turbos too small for an eclipse to push 300-330 horse power. I think most have an a/r of .48. are these turbos junk? Here is an example of some of the Garrets out there. I am guessing you can rotate the compressor housing so that they could fit?

I have heard of those crappy XS power turbos, and I would never buy one. I was more interested in the Garret T3 turbo, but I guess it won't put enough high rpm power down to be worth buying. I am just trying to find a cheap turbo upgrade that would put out some decent power (300-330). I guess I will have to save up and go with a EVO 3 turbo.

Your logic makes no sense. You are looking for a t3 with high rpm power, but you say a t3 doesn't make enough power up top so now you want a 16g??? I think you need to do some research on turbos and realize that just because a turbo is a "t3" that doesn't mean anything ... you need the exact specs on it. A 16g is also NOT a top end / high rpm turbo.

Why would you say my logic makes no sense. I was just asking if their were T3 turbos that would make 300-330 whp. I know nothing about T3 turbos, that is why I am asking if they make decent high rpm horsepower. I have a T25 turbo, so anything that holds boost until redline, to me is a high rpm turbo. I only said that because of the reply from the second post where they said it would choke me up high end. I have researched T3 turbos a lot but haven't found a lot of DSMer's that run them.

Yep, you hit the nail in with one swing there.... Do some more research before you buy crap like that. You will come to realize that the EvoIII16G is a great choice, and IF you want to go bigger, you will need to spend some serious cash to do it. I had to put a little $$$$ into mine to get that top end high HP pull....

Stick with your parts wishlist and you will not be disappointed man :thumb:

Thanx, I will probably end up going with the EVO 3 16G turbo. I just thought that maybe these deals were too good to be true. :coy:
