k i have a big 16g, 3 inch no cats/downpipe and catback exhaust,intake,plugs,plug wires, i have an auotmatic tranny so what can i do to get low-end power because my turbo spools arpund 4500- 5000 rpms plz help thankxs

Well the fact that you have and auto is a problem. :)

No seriously though, you might want to check out a boost controller and a drop in k&n. I'd keep the stock intake pipe cause it flows better then aftermarket.
 
agreed, fix the boost leaks and then you could get a high stall for low end power off the start and a shift kit and all that good stuff just helps out even more
 
Either you have huge boost leaks or the actuator is too weak to hold the wastegate completely shut during boosting. There is definitely a problem with 16g spooling at 4.5-5k MT or AT.
 
What about for a 14b with an Auto?? My 14b hits full boost at around 3500-4000 so my launch looks like a joke on tape.

I wish I had my T25 for my launch, and 14b for my higher range.

Same deal. The tests in the FSM have you checking boost pressure on a 1G at 2500 RPM WOT in second. What exactly are you calling full boost?

To me, full boost is the feeling you get in the middle of a drop in a roller coaster. When it starts to "suck you in". And also when my stock boost gauge can't go any higher, which is in the 4th hash.
 
hm, stock boost gauge is not a good way to be measuring boost :nono: Especially since you have an upgraded turbo on there you should get a boost controller on there. Sounds like you have a boost leak somewhere though too.

id say get a better exhaust manifold, pferrably the sbr cast one. i just installed mine about a month ago and it makes a huge difference. full 20psi by 3300rpm. gave it alot better bottom end too, it has more power under the boost range than before, you can hit 60 pretty quick without even going over -10psi, and no boost means no bov, which means ricers will think youre a n/t, which means theyre easy pickings if they think a n/t is a challenge. plus not hitting boost daily driving saves gas too.

or you can also port the stock one if you know how.

i think its one of the best things for under 300 to do to your car. that is, unless of course, you can make your own fmic kit for that same price.
 
If you have just the stock boost guage then it could be easy to confuse full boost with peak torque especially if you go by the way things 'feel'

I have a 16g and it hits my 16psi boost setting at 3100 rpms. But the peak in torque (stomach being pulled into the seat) is about 5000 or so.

And as mentioned it also depends on what 'full boost' is. If you set boost controller for 20 psi then it will take more to get to full boost.
