Sacramento,
my current mods are.. 550 cc injectors, 255 injectors, intake, 3.0 turboback exhaust, boost gauge, egt gauge, air/fuel gauge, safc II and mbc at 14psi, and stock turbo

my problem is the car is running so rich, can someone show me how to lean it out.. step by step..because i dont know how to tune it very well

what should the low throttle % and high throttle be at and etc.

If you don't know what you are doing, then you should really take it somewhere and have it professionally tuned. You could easily do irreversible damage to your engine by tuning it wrong.

Both a useless reply and unnecessary. Go post in the Hangout. :thumbdown

As for motorpsycho69, here are a few good places to get started. Tuning is the best way to get to know your car intimately and will be very beneficial in making the most power from your DSM. I am happy to see that you are actually making the attempt. :thumb:

I do hope you have some sort of datalogging device before you get started. DO NOT proceed until you have one. Your engine will thank you later.

Read through these a few times and you should be good to go. If you have anymore questions please feel free to post again with any questions or concerns you have. This is what the forums are for. Good luck and happy tuning!!!

IMHO someone who has no idea what they are doing should not be fiddling with an AFC as there is the possibility of engine failure. The $200 dollars or so that you pay for professional tuning could very well save you alot more in the long run if you make mistakes while tuning yourself. Even with a datalogger the information you are receiving is only as good as the as the integrity of the sensors that are supplying said data. After you know what it is you need to look for, listen for, try to avoid, then you can make attempts to make adjustments. He said in his first post that he didnt know what to do. I was simply trying to warn him of what could happen.

Gotta back you up here Pointer - I did more research before I bought my Pocketlogger than he did before he "borrowed" his... ALL the posts in this thread were helpful IMO - including yours.

Thanks Buck. I wasnt trying to be an asshole. I've seen first hand what bad tuning can do to an engine. Wouldnt wish that on an enemy!OMG

Take out the 550's and put your stock 450's back in....there's no need to have that much fuel on the stock turbo.

I garantee your car will run 10x better and be faster and easier on gas with the 450's back in.

And I guarantee that you are wrong.

550's will give you a little more fuel, which will add timing advance and raise the fuel cut threshhold.

thanks for the help.. i cant take my 550 injectors out.. cause im waiting for my 20g next week...:D cant wait... i have to let it run pig rich for now.. but -7 seems pretty decent...to lean out for now.. i think...

You're going to have to tune sooner or later, it's better that you learn to tune with the small turbo then with the 20g.

Get a logger and work on tuning before you even think about running a 20g.
