I have the m-105 palm with the 1g software, and when i hook up to the diagnostic port, it say's bad connection, can't datalog.

I have the power wire in an empty fuse slot with ample power. Everything is brand new. I can't figure it out.

Suggestions........:talon:

If the cable was made for a laptop it wont work on a palm unless you open the serial plug up and switch a few wires around. I had to do this with the cable that I got from a guy here in town.

That's because a PC's serial port is configured to connect to a modem (the PC is a DTE) and a Palm hotsync cable is configured to look like a modem (the Palm is a DCE). The pins in question are 2 and 3 used for transmit data and receive data and are swaped at the connector so that a HS cable can be plugged directly into the PC serial port and communicate. A datalogger cable has to switch these pins to match one device or the other.
