My next up grade will be a fuel pump. My mod list right now is just a boost gauge, boost controler. A/F gauge. What do you people suggest a 190 or a 255 walbro? What's the advantages and disadvantages of the 190 and 255?

What are your ultimate goals? You can install a 190 and use the stock FPR with no problems. The 255 and 255HP will flow more fuel, but they overrun the stock FPR. To do things RIGHT, you need to add an aftermarket FPR when you do the 255 or Supra pump (not the B&M). See RRE's site for details on flow for each pump. The only other benefit to the 190 is that it is a bit cheaper.

Regards,

My ultimate goal is to run 11's and still keep my car as some what a daily driver. I'm able to get a really good deal on the 255 walbro. So that's what I might end up getting. Any suggestions on the aftermarket FPR? My friend got a nice one from DSMotorsports that works well on his car. I might go with that one, but I'm still looking.

FYI, the Supra pump is a direct bolt in for the 1g cars. Requireds no hacking of the stock wiring, and does not make the extremely loud whine that the Walbro pumps do. Some find the whine appealing, but I am not one of them.

I prefer the supra pump also. On 2Gs it's not as big of a deal since your back seat covers the pump. On a 1G awd there is NO sound deadening above the access panel to the pump. It flows 260lph also.
http://www.partznet.com has the best price I've found on a new supra pump.

Ya, I have the Supra pump too. I didn't even re-wire the thing because even taking into account the voltage drop, it flows MORE than enough fuel.

I'll have to look into the supra fuel pump.

Larryd,
I plan on going with the SBR-G50 turbo:D, and I can get a hell of a good price on the 255 walbro. I know alot of people using the same fuel pump and it works great for them. The sound wouldn't really bother me at all.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

i just got a fuel pump off my bros wrecked 88 toyota supra turbo would this work as a decent upgrade for my 98 eclipse gsx and how much trouble is installing it.

What's up Will? How do you like the SBRG-50? That's what Mike suggested for my ride too.

It probably doesn't flow much. The supra pump we're talking about came on the MKIV turbos, which made a lot more power than the MKIIIs. Check www.vfaq.com and look under fuel pump. Never done one on a 2G, but I can tell you that the fittings are a B***H. Get some flare wrenchs before starting.

The flare fittings are all easy to break loose, provided you do it right.

4 wrenches needed, 2 appropriately sized line wrenches, 2 box end wrenches. put the line wrenches on the flare fittings put the box end of the box end wrenches onto the ends of the line wrenches so as to be able to use them for greater leverage. I've done three cars like this, 2 corroded out 1g's (I live in the land of snow and salt) and one 97 car. All of them pop right loose with a minimal amount of effort.

I did absolutely no cussing like a WWII trench soldier, as the VFAQ indicated I would be doing.

...and have the vice grips in waiting. ;) Even with the correct flair end wrenches, mine would not come off. I even soaked it like crazy with PB Blaster.

I think it seems to be on a car by car basis. My 90 was absolutely HORRIBLE. My 92 was kind of bad, but then my 91 was really easy. The 91 took almost no effort. I don't think they were too consistent with tightening them at the factory.
