Ok. here are my thougths on this.
Alot people say the normal readings on the
egt gauge should be as folows:
1400 crusing
1600+ danger zone

Now this is what hapens with my set up if am crusing for extended long period time like on the highway my EGTS would go to about 1450 if going up hill for a while (on boost) 1500 is the reading now.
If at tha reading(1500) I gun it(WOT) for a extended period of time like in racing mode:thumb: the EGTS would climb to almost 1600.

Now the true DANGER ZONE would be 1600 exactly or is it above 1600 something like 1650???

Am runnig a conservative 14psi un the punny T25.With a Walbro in tank fuel pump upgrade 75 gals and hour wich I belive would be 255 liters per hour.:dsm:

You can run it over 1600 for a very brief period of time, I've ran mine to 940c on my car for like 2-3 sec, just don't let it sit there in the red cause bad things will happen.

I've heard from people alot more knowledgable than I am that 1600 is fine as long as you know you are not knocking. For instance, going up a very steep mountain pass I see 1550 to 1600, which is normal for the load being put on the engine at the time. If you feel like the egt's are getting alittle too high, dropping to a lower gear will put alittle less load on the engine and your egt's should drop alittle.

If you are going WOT and getting egt's near 1600+ then you need to see if you are knocking or if your timing is being retarded for another reason.

Thanks for the info.
Its youst that ive spent way to much money and time rebuilding my engine and now tuning it that I would like to be sure if my EGTS are fine now before I up the BOOST to 16PSI.
If yiu guys have some more info or opinons on this subject please feel free to share youre thougts....

Its tough with a 2g but he's right. Not seeing knock sucks but you can log timing which is a direct relation to knock. It is definately possible/normal to see EGTs go over 1600 on a well set up car that isn't knocking at the top of 3rd and 4th gear at WOT.

Keep the boost down until you get the logger. The EGTS would scare me to unless I knew that I still had good timing advance. Better safe than sorry:thumb:

I 100% agree. It amazes me that alot of people don't think that a logger is necessary. EGT's and o2 volts are nice, but definitely not a substitution for a good logger.

I am currently using a pocketlogger, but will be going with a AEM or DSMLink at christmas time.

Pocketlogger was worth every penny, wouldn't tune without it.

Ok guys thanks for the advice.I did not think that with my current setup I would need a pocket logger to monitor knocking.
But in the future I plan on going with A big16G and 550 with FMIC.
Am sure by then I would really need to monitor those parameters better.

But for now I would like to thank you guys for the advice on my EGTS since I now know a lot more And wont get scared by see them going to 1550 and 1600.

You can't monitor knock on a 2g with a pocketlogger. You can with a Dsmlink or EMS
