With the Haltech, I am able to get to the right AFR at WOT at certain rpm and boost in 1st and 2nd gears. However, as I am in the third gear, I will get a richer AFR at the same rpm and boost . If I were to lean out the fuel map at this particular rpm and boost, I will surely end up with leaner AFR in 1st and 2nd gears but the right AFR for third.

My question is will it be okay to have ,say, a 12.9 AFR in first and second gears and ,say, 12.5 in third gear? First and second gears go by very quickly as in many cars and I wonder if that split second lean mixture would kill the engine.

Thanks

That is strange.

Usually, you will be leaner in the higher gears, due to more load.

You probably should look into why this is hapening.
