is it possible that my car does not have any knock at full boost but does sometimes when starting from a stop and while reving in neutral? my logger does not show any knock at full boost but when i rev the engine it goes up from 10-39 and sometimes during normal driving i get knock around 20 when starting from a stop. im assuming that both of those cases are phantom knock.

Sounds like rancid PK. Likely your lifters are ticking. Get the updated lifters. Best source: 1888 855 9712 they are like 7.74 each.

Definately PK. I'd suspect (in this order)tick, lifter tick, bad knock sensor or sensor connection, carbon residue (fix with MCCC), various rattles or squeels including wheels/brakes/exhaust. See if you can get it to knock in neutral on a hard rev - if you even get a blip it's probably lifter tick or oversensitive/gooey knock sensor...

Concelli Mitsibishi (partznet.com) has knock sensors the cheapest
Prime Auto Warehouse has lifters for 7.74 each 1888 855 9712
