I used to be an alarm and stereo installer. So i can do the fuel pump rewire. The directions (on dsm.org) state to use a 30 amp relay, but they dont even use the switch part of the relay to turn it on and off. Meaning that 12 volts would be always running to the fuel pump. Thats what i would have thought you would need the relay for. If we are connecting the power directly to the battery with no on/off switch..why do we need the relay?
I have a capacitor already installed in the rear for my subwoofer amplifier. I would assume since the fuel pump only needs power when the car is turned on, i could run the 10 gauge power directly from the capacitor correct? The capacitor only comes on when the car is turned on (acc and on positions) . Will it harm the fuel pump or wiring if i just add the 10 gauge wire to the fuel pump without cutting the factory wire off? thanks again.

. I read that and thought you were saything that the point was to have 12V at the fuel pump at all times and I was thinking what good would that do when the engine was off.
