have any of you used or use the pocket logger? If so how is it and would you recommend it? I think it is well worth the cost of just being able to read the check engine light troble codes as i hate the key trick, but am thankful we can do that. Please advise as i am thinking of buying one and want some opinion's. Thank you

i haven't used one but I am also thinking of getting one. I am looking at getting one that will connect to a palm. If you have a palm take a look at http://www.pocketlogger.com They have software for 1G and 2G. You can also download a sample program that lets you see how it all works.

I am still looking at it, but I agree it seems like a good idea. There is a lot of info to be found on one of the "other" DSM forums.

I like a logger/laptop combo better. I know 3 people to switch to the laptop this year. Plus, if you already have a laptop, it is cheaper. Get the Alex Peper logger or Tunerstein. $100. If you want pretty, get the EaseSim for 2X as much.

all i want is something to see numbers wise and the pocket logger will work for me as far as that goes, but was wondering about ease of use and such. I already have a palm and would rather not buy anything but the software and cable.

will it show me gains and such, in other words log before header install, then headerinstall log again, will i see the gains i get from the header?

No the logger will not show horsepower. then logger is mainly for checking and clearing CEL and fuel tuning to make sure timing curve is good. also to log any other ECU vaules to diagnose a problem.

I have one and it's excellent for what I want to accomplish.

who sells these? do i gotta send my ECU in?

No need to send the ECU in. In the package you get the software and a cable. Under your dash, driver's side, next to the center consol you have a diagnostic port plug. Cable goes from that to the serial port of the laptop.

What I use... www.obd-2.com The Alex Peper logger. Cheapest of the bunch, does what you need, looks basic.

For looks and double the price but doing the same thing... www.obd2.com or www.autotap.com
