i have a cable from ppt racing and palmv with pocket logger running i get nothing

yes you can, just get a null modem adapter from radioshack and it works great. The pocket logger version of the cable just has 2 wires swapped.

thanks dude it works great, do you know what pins it switches

I apologize for the dumb question...
I wanna do the same thing, but I am kinda confused about which pins need to be swapped. One end of the datalooger cable goes to the
diagnostic port and the other one is a black box with a db-9 end
that plugs to the serial port of my laptop. So what you are saying is
that I need to get a null modem db-9 to db-9 from Radioshack and
then swap pins 2-3 on it and plug it all in the laptop.

Datalogger --> null modem (pins 2-3 swapped) --> Lapto serial port?

Is that right?

again ... sorry for the dumb post

OMG

no no. You can do either or. If your cheap and don't feel like buying the null modem adapter, you can swap pins 2-3 on the DB9 end of the logger cable or you buy the adapter. They both do the same thing.

Hey guys,

I finally got everything together, TMO Cable, Sony Clie PEG-SJ22,
Serial Hotsync Cable, Null Modem cable & misc stuff. I CANNOT make it work. I tested the TMO cable and it works fine with the TMO Logger.
Then I plugged the TMO cable to null modem cable and then to the
Hotsync serial cable and tried the Pocketlogger ... No Connection.
Checked everything again ... no luck. Then I opened the TMO datalogger
and decided to see what pins it used, it turn out that the pins are 2,3,5.
So I made myself a cable and swapped pins 2 & 3 ... again ... it did not
work. I cannot swap pins 2 & 3 on the datalogger as they are soldered
on the little board. I am really lost. Can someone help ... please !

I have attached a picture of the TMO logger and my self made cable.
The null modem I tried is standart DB9-DB9 from radioshack.

Any imput would be greatly appreciated.
