So I've been putting together some engine simulations for the class I am teaching and my dissertation. Found this interesting.
Cylinder Pressure/Mass Fraction of Fuel Burned/Torque vs Crank angle plots. Based on my car at about 30psi and 6000RPM ~43* overall flame duration. Plots at 0* 5* 10* 15* and 16* where peak torque is.
Look how the pressure rises much faster than the TQ
Going to 5* from 0 * 16.3% increase in pressure for 7.5% increase in TQ
From 5* to 10*
14% pressure for 7% increase in TQ
From 10* to 15*
11% pressure for 2% increase in TQ
From 15* to 16*
2% pressure for .1% increase in TQ
Somthing to keep in mind when your running E85. You can easily get too much timing. Put it where is stops making more power -1 or 2 degs.
