MTX-L Wideband O2 Digital Air/fuel Ratio Gauge

Well it has a wire made to connect to replace your stock O2 Sensor. But I don't know anything about it. Does it really work? How do I wire it up? I ask because I just finished getting my car back on the road after a long time and lost the front o2 sensor. I cannot afford a new one right now but have the WB. Is this a possible solution?

4. Optionally, the YELLOW (Analog out 1) and/or BROWN (Analog out 2) can be
connected to the analog inputs of other devices such as data loggers or ECUs. If
either one or both of these wires are not being used isolate and tape the wire(s) out
of the way. The default analog outputs are as follows: Analog output one (yellow) is
0V = 7.35 AFR and 5V = 22.39 AFR. Analog output two (brown) is 1.1V = 14 AFR
and .1V = 15 AFR. This is a simulated narrowband signal.

What do you mean not as clean of a signal? I'm glad I asked cause I was thinking the Yellow Wire, But now that I think about it, thats a WB Signal, the Brown is a Narrowband Signal.

Works great that's the way I've been running mine for the past few years. He means that since its a simulated signal to the ecu that it won't register as smoothly as the actual stock o2 sensor. But honestly once things are setup and tuned right it shouldn't make a difference.

I ran it like that for a couple months before just swapping to the wideband output and using link to simulate for me. Worked out fine for me.

John hit the nail on the head. Anything simulated won't nearly be as smooth of a sweep than a real narrowband sensor.

You're probably thinking of the LC-1, as that one uses the yellow wire for narrowband sim.

No, My quote up above is directly from the MTX-L Manual.
Analog output one (yellow) is
0V = 7.35 AFR and 5V = 22.39 AFR. Analog output two (brown) is 1.1V = 14 AFR
and .1V = 15 AFR.

I was thinking the I should use the Yellow wire not realizing thats not a narrowband signal, its wideband. It was my mistake and you cleared it up right away.

Well I found someone with an O2 Sensor, not sure how good it is but whatever.

Nothing special needing done? I'm thinking this O2 sensor is bad. Just have a feeling. Currently the car is on my break in tune which is technically stock Evo8 but with 2g MAF Scaling and 450cc Injector scaling. If I seriously can just run a wire from that brown wire to the O2 Input Pin on the ECU, then frak all the nonsense and Maybes and what if's.

I have rear O2 on the rom set to simulated.

So I wired it in. So far seems good. But I'm on most likely a bad tune, Stock Evo8 Maps with 450 scaling and 2g maf scaling.

Thanks for all the info. I guess my Evoscan is expired so I cannot log right now but oh well. I think I got it right.

nope. brown wire goes to front o2 input on the ecu. yellow wire goes to rear o2. Only thing I did was set up the rear o2 for logging.

Let me get this right. I've been reading that if you connect the yellow wire to the rear o2 sensor you can unplug the old front o2 sensor??
Cause right now I follow an article on here that says leave the old front o2 sensor plug in BUT wrap it in aluminum foil and out of the way.

Narrowband simulation wire goes to front o2 pin. 0-5v wire goes to rear o2 pin on the ecu. The only reason to keep the old o2 plugged in is to keep the o2 heater code from being triggered, but if you have ceddymods, you just disable that code.
