Ok so I just started driving my 92 GSX that I got at the end of the summer and man o man is this thing a dog. Doesnt even compare to my old talon which had almost the same mods. Ok so I dont know much about the car other than it's a solid 6/4 and it has an eprom ecu, upgraded clutch, upper IC pipes with 1g bov, and a full 3'exhaust with O2 dump. I've turned the boost all the way down then turned the BC about 2 small turns and I mean small. When I drive it and mat the gas the O2 dump opens and it's like this things a dog has hardly any pull. When I go to 2nd it has small pull, then third if Im still gas to the floor it chugs and hicups bad. I can't find my data logger to see whats going on but even with boost down it hits like 15-18 psi. It's still snowing slightly here so trying to stand under the hood for hours and working on it is almost impossible. I run only 93 Octane and have checked the turbo for shaft play which it has 0. I have not done a leak down test, compression test or base timing yet but checked my spark plugs and they seemed to be the right color not too black and not too white. There's no shops around here that can work on these cars and I would like to get this thing at a base level so I can work on getting the mods done that I want to do. Any help please?

What fuel pump and injectors? What turbo? Going to need a logger to watch knock and see how much timing is being pulled. Sounds like it's pulling timing and hitting fuel cut. Also need a wideband to watch air fuel.

I went and got new plugs stepped up to the platinum and when I pulled each plug they were almost all gaped .35-.36. So I gaped the new plugs at .30 and noticed almost an instant difference. I'm not spiking. Also I found the manual for the MBC which says turn 3 full CC turnes which puts me at 9psi. I've driven under WOT and have held 9-10 psi with no spikes or backfires.

Platinum does not work well with these cars. Its actually less conductive than Copper, but it's harder so they last longer. Due to the extremely tiny tip and less powerful spark they will foul easily in a turbo engine. That tiny tip means they are also very easily damaged. Don't buy into those expensive "quadruple-tip ununbtainium" spark plugs, they won't work better than Copper.

I'd toss in a set of NGK BPR7's, check the spark plug wires, and most importantly run a boost leak test.

I've read that people had good luck with .30 gap. I didnt spend a fortune on these plugs they were just a step up from your basic plug. Should I dial them down to .28? I wanted to drive the car a bit then pull plugs to see if any are covered in oil or white. Boost leak test is next on my list as well as getting rid of my bos MBC
