2/3 no spark

so i have a dead stock TSI FWD

the engine is from a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST only swapped the block and the head

replaced the coil
replaced my ecu
did a compression test
someone told me that it could be the cam position sensor ?

should i just swap it out and run a 1g cas?

are there any other things that could cause no spark on 2/3 ?

I have someone telling me that the Cam Position Sensor from my 1996 car would not work properly with the 1998 cam gears??

yes. i have had this problem several times, and the the culprit was the camshaft angle senser. in one of the most recent the metal band thats meshed thith the intake cam was bent and the seser wasnt reading it. just an idea but most likely the cas

and for other posssible culprits,
i would check all the continuity of the
wires from the coil pack to the ecu and
to the power transister. but it could also be the
powe transister itself. if you you have a haynes
manual the testing procedure should be in there.

I dont have a camshaft angle sensor in my car.. i'm going to check the wires tomorrow gotta get the meter

So you take the plug wires off and no spark? Cam sensor is for the injectors crank sensor is for spark. Bad Power transistor can cause this

ya when i pull 2/3 off i get nothing at all, i think i have a transistor laying around i'll check that out tomorrow thanks

so are you using the 1g cas that has both the crank position senser and the camshaft angle sensor?

if not and your still on the 2g cas and cps, i had the exsact same problem with
no spark on 2 cylenders on my 2g dsm. coil pack was good, so was power transister, ecu good,
all connections, and it turned out to be the CAS. at all loss try the cas

i alao had this problem. my cam sensor broke when i put my head back on my car. the 95-96 cam sensor is behind the intake cam gear. see if it is broke and fine. if it is change the power transistor out. and see if that is bad
