Out of curiosity why hasn't anyone done this? If you moved it to just before you would be able to run the BOV to the atmosphere.

I don't know how this perticular MAF works. I assume it is some variation of a wire heated to a specific resistance and when the air rushes over it, it cools changing the resistance. Is this true?

Fitting it in the new location could prove tricky though.. there isn't exactly tons of room.

Thoughts?

Well the main problem with that is that if you were to put it after the BOV then it woudl be even more of a restriction than it is now...

I know a lot of 240 guys run blow through and just use a screen or filter right off the turbo. But if you want to vent than either deal with the consequences or get somethign that will allow you to...

I know the 1G cars use a MAF that measures the swirls in the air and computes airflow from that. I believe they are more finicky than resitance wire types. 2G cars are probably about the same, since you can use them on 1G cars with different injectors.

I've heard that the swirl MAFs have problems when pulses of air bounce back from the engine into the wrong side of the MAF. Maybe that would be a reason to keep it right after the filter.

Your idle would suck and youwoudl run rich because DSM MAS add in the air the bov returns to their calculations automatically....If you vent youwill have problems without proper fuel managment.

Grimace: see the bit that says "don't give any technical advice...".

The DSM MAF isn't really suited to blow-through operation; it needs to take simultaneous air volume, temperature and pressure measurements to compute air mass, and the sensors used to track these values don't react at the same rate. This would lead to bad airmass calculations, and poor performance.

I have this set up on my car and it is running great. I have a ton of mods and I could never get it too ideal right until now. This is one of the greatest products out there.
