A little help with my AFC

My problem right now is that the RPM's displayed on my Apexi S-AFC are not even close to whats displayed in front of me.

If the gauge in front is at idle, 600 RPM the AFC say 400 RPM. Not to far off right? Now when I'm at 3000 RPM the AFC says 1500 RPM. What the hell???

Does anyone know what I'm talking about here?

errrr, is it because I have it set on 4 cyl when the way our cars are it should be set on 2 cyl?

Some have said that theirs works on 4cyl, and I'm assuming that they tapped the signal from both coils....when you tap the wire Apex tells you to, you are only reading 1 coil.

The 1990s are weird like that. If you set it to 2 cyl it works fine. go to www.roadraceengineering.com , they exlpain it.

I tapped mine according to VFAQ and it works well on 4 cyl. So i guess im ok for now. Thanks for the explaination though.

If you tap one coil as the directions explain you are only getting two firings, if you tap both coils you will get four firings, so if you set your unit to a 4 cyl. set up and only tap one coil you are reading half the data therefore you will get half the RPM's.
