So I was out tuning my talon today and realized there isn't much discussion about tuning with pump and meth. General consensus with dsmlinker's is that including meth in a pump gas tune should be no different (i.e., tuning around 11:1 AFr). Most will agree that tuning to a specific Lambda point is more accurate (seeing as how all wideband gauges convert from lambda to gasoline afr), but to keep things on a level playing field, we will speak in gasoline terms. Keeping in mind that every car and every setup is different, post your likes and dislikes about tuning with meth and how you go about doing so. I'll start, any feedback would be good :D

Snow performance 2D kit - 80/20 meth/water mix - progressive controller
27 psi with pump93 - 2.0L 50 trim

I've found a lot more power from tuning to 11.5:1 AFr versus the traditional 11:1. Leaning it out to 11.5:1, all else equal, yielded a raise in HP in dsmlink. Of course the HP isn't accurate, but it was an indication to me that there was power made.

seems about right for me. Picked up about 100 hp at the dyno, mostly from 5 more psi of boost, but correct a/f ratio(11.3-1-11.6:1) pretty even did the rest.

I run pump gas and methanol injection on a 57trim TO4E bb

Damn when I saw the title to this thread I thought there was a drug rehab discount or something! JK, how do you like the Snow kit? What do you use for your 80/20 mix (zyolene)?

Labonte (makes the kits for Snow performance) 2D kit - 70/30 meth/water mix - progressive controller kicks on at 6psi full at 15psi
28 psi with pump 91 - 2.0L(stock 7 bolt) Holset HX35

im right at about a 11.0 afr il try to go a little leaner next time i retune

I ran a snow progressive kit on my old RS with a 60 trim and used a 100ml sprayer. I ran a 50/50 mix an saw my afr get rich as the the meth sprayed. If you are looking for a good track time or high dyno numbers then meth is good for you but kind of a PITA for a DD. I don't like the idea of multiple gadgets that leave more room for failure.

I did a ton of methanol/water injection testing and tuning here a while back... I liked a lot of things about it and to this day if i put pump gas in my car I make sure the water injection is filled and ready ( I run e85 most of the time )

I also noticed a great increase in power with tuning down to a good 11.5 area while the methanol was injecting (i was running about 70/30 to 80/20 heavy on the methanol ) and picked up a lot of power by just leaning things out, but it forced you to be very dependant on that tank in the back being full which kinda scared me.

I'm running E85 now because it makes so much more power at all the same levels and aain is defeinitely dependant on being tuned lean enough to get a crisp but full burn.

I even tried no intercooler and only meth injection for a while in the ded of summer. And although i got pretty positive results i decided to re-plum the intercooler anyway. The car did love warmer air temps for cruising though, it really smoothed out the ride.

I was running an M7 and an M5 nozzle together and getting about 24psi out of my 57 trim daily without much knock.

aem kit - largest nozzle. I run straight methyl hydrate. Sprays at 12psi + non progressively (control by my ems). Stock 6 bolt, pump94 and 31psi S258. 1.6ish Volts of knock @ 31psi, 0.9v @ 29psi. Very conservative timing peak 13deg @ 31psi. 128mph @ 29psi. Kicked off track for no cage, can't get full runs @ 31psi, guessing 130-131mph judging by 1/8 passes. AFR is 11.5-11.6:1

Soon to be switching to E85.

I use -20 degree F windshield washer fluid, about 50/50, on pump and I'm topping out at 33 psi on 11.2 timing on a Holset HX40.

I'm thinking about running dual nozzles, how much more boost could you push out and is it draining your meth tank?

HA! LOL when I saeen this thread title, I thought this is going to be interesting! LOL

im also thinking of going water/meth injection on my weekend warrior since e85 isnt an option where i live.. but at least i have 93 pump....

if i was to go meth which kit is the best bang for your buck?? aem or snowPerformance, ect ect??

thanks in advanced:thumb:

That about where I'm running, somewhere between 11.5:1 and 11.8:1 and haven't seen any knock. My timing is pretty much stock, except for a 2 degree addition from 3k up.
