# of windows in 1g crank sensor

I'm trying to see if anybody knows the amount of "windows" in a 1g crank angle sensor or if it even uses any. I'm not sure if the cam angle sensor picks up location based on magnetism or light and how many times per revolution of the cam it does this. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
 
On the 1G the CAM and CRANK signals BOTH come from the CAS mounted to the passenger side of the cylinder head. There are 2 different types of CAS sensors as well for the 1G (91-92 Optical Effect, 93-94 Hall Effect). Both output the same signal in the end though. The cam outputs two pulses per revolution of the CAM shaft (One big and one small, for an index to define #1 TDC), and the crank outputs 4 pulses per revolution of the CAM shaft (rising edge = 75 degrees BTDC, falling edge = 5 degrees BTDC for that respective cylinder).
