Hello everyone i am wanting to log my 2g 1995 talon tsi awd. I currently have a laptop so i would like to go that route. What i am needing is for someone to point me to a website where i can get the EXACT cable i will be needing to connect my laptop to the car and begin to log with. Also then can i have someone send me a link to software that i can use for my laptop and this car. Yes i know dsmlink is the best but budget wont allow me to get that now so i am looking for something to log with for the time being! Any help is greatly appreciated!

I use the openport 2.0 and evoscan but I also have a 98. if you convert to a 98-99 ecu you would have full tuning and quick logging with a $190 cable and $25 evoscan software + the cost of the ecu. :rocks:

anyone know what it takes for a 95 ecu?

EvoScan Software and a OpenPort 1.3D cable.
Mitsubishi OBDII DataLogger - EvoScan

People have successfully used the ebay VAG 409.1 cable also.

The 95 uses MUT over OBD2, which is limited to the OBD2 speed of about 10 samples/second.

There are generic OBD2 Loggers also, but not be able to log KnockSum and Injector Duty Cycle make them limited in there use. A MUT logger is needed for easy tuning.

whats an MUT logger and where can i get one???

MUT is Mitsubishi's proprietary diagnostics protocol. It allows logging of many important items OBD2 doesn't, like Knock and Injector Duty. With the 97+ ecu MUT allows about 10x faster logging then OBD2.

EvoScan does MUT logging, as well as the 95-96 Hybrid MUT over OBD2.

I use the software from scantool.net because it is cheaper and has most of the same capabilities.

The cable I got from ebay, its an elm based cable. There is warnings at scantool.net saying these cables dont work with the software but they do. I wish I wasnt behind a firewall right now I would show you the specific cable.

anyone that can point me to an exact link of the MUT cable that i can use for my 95 ecu?

Already posted it.

o ok i thought for some reason that an mut cable and logger setup was different then the one you had posted. Thanks for the post ill come back and let all of you know how it turns out

This is what i use on MANY cars, and the cable i bought from him has been great, although i had to resolder one wire back into the OBD comm plug i am sure that being that it's 10 years later he probably has made a vast amount of improvements to everything i've watched the software come leaps and bounds over the years so i would expect quality either way and although the site is kinda lame the product is good
