so i searched here and google and couldnt find much. i dont have a user name or password for dsmlink forums and just flat out need some advice. im ushally pretty good at getting my fuel trims to where they need to be and untill it got cold they were at .8 (low) and 1.8 (med). so i was going to further dial in my tune and now they are all screwed up and not moving 5.6(low) and 1.8 (med). they are also not moving. i have tried adjusting the dead time and global with no luck. my o2 sensor cycles up and down and logged coolant temps are at or near 183 when idling according to dsmlink.

major mods are:
holset hx40
devils own meth injection kit 50/50 mix
walbro 255
aermotive fuel pressure reg set at 38psi
880cc injectors
dsmlink

any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.
david

thanks. call me dumb but i have no idea where the coolant offset is in link. ill have to play around with it for a little bit to figure it out...

thanks again for the help. ill just have to get the coolant temps up to 190 for the fuel trims to start moving again if i cant figure it out...

Once you change the coolant offset, the ecu will think the temperature is X amount of degrees higher than it actually is.

If actual temp is 183* and you put in a coolant offset of 15*, the ecu will think the temp is 198*. This is how people(me) with low temp thermostats get their fuel trims to update.

thanks for the advise man! why wouldnt i want to just lower it all the way? that way the fuel trims are always moving. i dont see a downside to this.

btw JVT radiators FTW! my coolant temps droped 20 degrees from my clogged fluidine...

What do you mean lower it all the way?

your talking about making the offset lower to make the ecu think the coolant temps are higher then they actually are. why not offset the number to the max so fuel trims are always moving????

Because you want the ecu to stay in open loop mode during warm up. Once the coolant temp gets over 87* it will go into closed loop. There is more reasons not to on a 2G but that is the only reason for a 1G.
