Sorry if this has already been addressed, but I couldn't find a thread quite like this one.

I've had some major blow-by issues with my setup, so I ditched my old, stock head for a "race" head and my block is at the shop getting new rings. My tune isn't very good because it was hard to tune with the terrible blow-by. In fact, I couldn't get a solid boost-leak test over 20psi and I couldn't boost over 21psi or I have issues with too much pressure build-up.

My question is this; I've been running a stock 2g maf and 1g bov recirc'd and am going to be switching over to a tial q and maft setup. Should I get everything running right before installing the maft setup and tial q, or can I just go ahead and do it all at the same time? (I'd like to do it all at the same time if it won't be a giant headache). Also, will my old tune work as a general guide for the new setup?

One more question; I have some new fic 1050's. Same as above. Should I wait to install them until I have everything working right, or just go ahead and put them in?

Thanks a lot guys,

Lots of questions, not enough info. ;)

What tuning solution do you plan on using?

According to the OP's profile, he's using DSMlink.

I would say to throw everything in at once, as long as it's all configured correctly (MAF-T set for 450cc injectors and everything else zero'd out and DSMlink set for 1050cc injectors).

I would not use your old tune though. Just zero everything in DSMlink out (except for the global % and deadtime) so that it uses the stock airflow and fuel settings from the ECU. Then I would do a retune. Reason being is that the airflow sliders will vary from the two different sensors (GM MAF and stock MAS). And since you're upgrading the injectors, your old tune probably doesn't have enough fuel pulled from it, so you're better off just letting the ECU deal with it. Plus, I personally would rather start from the beginning on a fresh built engine that way I know everything would be set for that specific setup.

I'm not used to having profiles filled out. I need to stay out of the dang newbie forums and restore my faith in humanity....

Thanks a lot guys! Sorry for not saying what tuning system I'm using. I forgot to. :( Your advice makes perfect sense. I was hoping you guys would say that, as I don't want to mess with that stuff in the snow. :notgood:
