From all the debugging I have done, it appears my problems point to the ECU being bad. I would like to find a suitable replacement on the cheap, so... I am running a 95 TSI AWD 5-speed, can I go with the ECU from an auto or will I experience conflicts associated with the fuel system (sorry, my knowledge of injector specs are limited).

Please search next time as there are already a bunch of threads with this same topic.

You can use an 2g ECU. If you use a 2gb ECU, you will have to swap spark plug wires because of different cam angle sensor signals. Only the 1g's will have a fuel problem with their auto and manual cars came with different size injectors. All 2g's came with 450cc's.

Your response brings up some clarrification. I did in fact search, before posting and again after reviewing the answer, but I still need help. Do I understand that you are saying if I use a 1995 ECU from a TSI AWD auto trans in my 95 TSI AWD 5-speed car, I need to swap the configuration of the plug wiring?
Thanks --Mike
