Recently swapped my non-eprom ecu with an eprom ecu, also swapped 1g mas with a GM Maft, also swapped in a 50-trim, fpr, and 680cc injectors. Setup worked fine (except for occasional stalling at start-up, for about a week. Then my car would start but the immediatly stall. Turns out the translator i bought off someone was no longer working. My dad (who is an engineer and works with electronics) insists that something had to of caused this to happen that the translator didn't just go bad, he thinks the ecu must be sending out too many volts or too strong of a signal and overloaded the translator causing it to fail. Does he have a point?

He's right that something caused the failure, but I seriously doubt it was the ECU. The translator unit may have shorted out through something (even another engine system) with worn wiring, gotten battery acid on it or even been contaminated with water if it was installed in a bad spot. I'm not saying you did it, it's probable that the previous owner had it installed poorly and noticed the symptoms, or even had a serious problem with the wiring and blamed the translator, thus the decision to sell it to you. It was very likely well on it's way to dying before you even got your hands on it.
