So I go to start my car today after I get out of class and it starts up for about 1 second and then immediately dies.. I plug my computer in because I have a cel. Its fuels trims, I check my fuel and almost all of the sliders are topped out and the rest pretty damn near it. The dead time was at 2000 and something and the global value was at -3%. My injectors are 950cc's. So I'm like wtf and I zero it out, and look at my airflow, and all the sliders are topped out on that too. My rev limit is set at 3000 and launch at 2000, pretty much everything was messed with besides the timing... So I set everything clear the codes and drive home, and my cel was still on but no code.

Keep in mind I drove it to school and it behaved perfectly fine..

Any help?

If this is in a 2g (just saw 96 tsi in your profile), for some very very strange reason, the ecu could have temp. lost power.....

Wouldn't it return to stock tune (like how it is burned for the 950's) if it lost power? Everything was set at ridiculous things.

Not apart of their forums, bought dsmlink from a buddy before he went into the marines. Emailed them to see if I could get access, no reply yet. I figure there are plenty of dsmlink users on this forum that could help.

What coolant temp do you have the CEL light to come on at?

I believe its set at like 235.. But I disconnected the battery and the cel when off and hasn't came back on. I'm tryin to figure out why all that stuff got messed up..

Indeed that is one for the DSMLink forums. I mean people know a lot on here but the inner workings of DSMLink is a whole other animal.

If you did everything right when you transferred ownership from your friend to you then you should be able to sign on the DsmLink forums. If you don't have any proof or transfer of ownership then they will consider it a fake/stolen and will not help you.
Read this: DSMLink user transfer

I'm sure someone here will be able to help you but if you need a new chip/board/etc we won't be able to do that for you.

I have never heard of something like this happening. It sounds like 1. somebody changed your settings to mess with you or 2. something messed up with the ecu.

This was actually happening to me when my ECU was resetting at 4,500 RPM, due to a loose clutch switch wire ( the one activated when the clutch is disengaged). I would spin the car up under load and once i hit 4500 RPM the car would fall on its face, then take off again. After doing some logging, I found out the ECU was actually re-setting, as logging haulted each time the car fell on its face (I/O error in DSMLink)

When I fired the car back up, my settings were all messed up just like you are explaining. After fixing that wire, my resets went away, and this problem has never appeared to me again. I would be interested in knowing how these values get changed in DSMLink as well. Very strange...WTF
