ordering dsmlink this upcoming week

It's time. I have to step up and do it to be able to take the Talon to the next level. I have to buy a socketed eprom ecu. There's a guy selling one in the classifieds section that I'm going to try to snag. I know I need the dsmlink system itself, which I am either going to try to buy thru the classifieds or buy from Dsmlink. My question is about datalogging and tuning with the Dsmlink. I see a guy has a datalogger in the classifieds for $75. Will that datalogger be able to do the datalogging and tuning I need to do or will i still need to buy a laptop?

I would say you will probably want a laptop. I know guys that run dsmlink from there cellphones, but its a pita. I use an old dell latitude d520, and it works great. Look on ebay and you can probably find one for 2 or 3oo bucks

Be sure the laptop you get has the 9 pin db9 port on the back.

Yeah spend $200 on a laptop and slap it in the passenger seat.

YES, get it from ECM Tuning. Or make sure you verify that it is a legit copy.

You won't need any other logging software, just get a laptop that runs DSMlink and it will do all the logging for you from the link software.

Now there is a guy that is selling a eprom ecu that is socketed and chipped. He says he can burn it for my setup. Would I be able to run that burn without dsmlink?
