ok guys im not sure if this is where this belongs but i have a 95 GSX with 6-bolt swap and in 3rd gear when i hit boost the CEL comes on then goes off after i let off the throttle, is that knock or something else, i have DSM Link but im not sure how to use it yet, any help would be appreciated

Probably is coming on from knock, but you would have to check to see what the CEL for knock is set too.

Download the users manual from the dsmlink website and read it a few times :thumb:
 
Yes that is most likely due to you seeing knock. Link can be configured so that it signals the cel at whatever amount of knock you want to set it to. Mine comes on when I see 1° of knock.
 
Yep, like they said probably knock.. I wouldn't push the car until you learn a little more about what you have..
 
Knock is basically explosions in the cylinder that shouldn't be happening, can be caused by running too lean among other things. You shouldn't push your car anymore until you learn how to use DSMLink because excessive knock can lead to a blown engine. You can try to eliminate knock using DSMLink either by adding fuel to where you see knock or by retarding the timing. Read up on some manuals and guides and maybe try the DSMLink user forums and post a log, they usually reply really quickly with a wealth of information.
