possible screw up on my afc
well I think I did something pretty stupid. besides attempting to install the safc, I cut(not wired in) the power and ground wires off the ecu. The only wire I did/should have cut was the blue/yellow aiflow signal wire, and wired in the pink first, then orange wire. but even in doing that, I still don't get a afl reading. it comes on, but I can't tune it whatsoever. with my 550cc injectors and 190 lph lp fuel pump, I'm running so rich right now, I can't even drive it. After you guys get done laughing at me and calling me all sorts of foul obscenities, can you let me know how bad I screwed up, and what I need to do to fix it, so I can laugh when it's all done? Instead of curse in 5 different languages?

one thing i see that you did wrong is you cut the groun wire.. you arent supposed to cut the ground wire. Your supposed to tap into it in two places, one wire goes closer to the ECU then the other but you still leave it all as one wire with two wires coming off of it.

yeah I thought about that, but only after I already cut it. so I placed a wire at both of the ends that were cut, so it's like one whole wrie again. the same thing with the red wire. I'm still not getting afl as it's reading 0.0. is it supposed to be 0.0? Today when I get off of work, I'll check the 02 voltage again, I'm guessing that is what adjusts everything. the blue and yellow air flow signal wire was the only wire that was supposed to be cut, and I'm sure it's connected right, but perhaps not. I gotta get this damn thing set soon.
Oh, would my new fuel pump and 550 cc injectors have anything to do with the reason why I can't seem to set it?

Well, I figured out the mistake I made. the same day I did my pumps and injectors, i put in my upper i/c pipes and intake pipe....looking around the engine bay screaming loud obscenities.....I found the problem.....my mas was NOT connected!!! so after screaming more loud obscenities, I plugged it in, started the car. Lo and behold.....I'm now able to adjust......I still feel quite dumb, as I should feel, but at least it's over now........so if any moderators see this, u can close the thread now. lmao.......

To my knowledge the Afl part of the S-AFC is supposed to read 0.0% all the time on our cars. My S-AFC is like that, and so is my friends with a 2g (99 GS-T). But yea, and also make sure that your two ground wire taps are exactly 1cm apart. They say in the booklet it is critical that they are only 1cm apart, and I believe the black wire has to go closest to the ECU, but double check that in the booklet as it's been a while since I hooked mine up... Good luck man...
