I got offered 400 for my S-AFC from a local guy and i also got an opportunity to buy an almost new AEM EMS for 1k. Should i sell my S-AFC and buy the EMS since i have this opportunity? BTW, there's a local shop around here that will help with the tuning.

yeah take it and get another afc even if u dont. The new one is nice as hell.

The correct answer to "do I need a standalone engine management system" is almost always "no".

If you have to ask, you probably don't need it.

On the other hand, if you really meant "could I get an AEM EMS and have fun with it?", the answer is probably "yes". I'd be inclined to do a bunch of research first though.

But if someone is offering you $100 over retail for the S-AFC, take it. 8)

Thanks for the opinions guys :) The reason why I asked the question is because i don't really need a standalone right now since my car is running good with just the S-AFC and i was worried that all of the features in the AEM unit might be overkill for me. But i'd love to tune it a little better and get more power out of it. BTW, this guy is an idiot...he wants the SAFC just b/c it'll look cool in his car
