Hello, ive searched for days on this with no satisfactory answers, so here i am.
First, my car is really rich under boost. No sputtering or anything like that, just a tiny bit of black fuel smoke @ wot and fuel smell when i come to a stop at an intersection. My mods are in my profile and im running 37.5 psi fp with vl off at idle. I have a properly calibrated and installed ngk wideband that tells me im at 9, to 9.3:1 afr at wot.
Im pretty anal about some things, and boostleak testing just happens to be one of them and i do this test at least twice per month and have no leaks to speak of, so i just dont get this.
With my stock eprom, 1g maf, 660cc injectors, i had my car rough tuned at -30 across on the safc. With a 2g mass, i dropped it to 20, but both these setups yielded the same rich afrs. I burned a chip with 2g maf comp, 660cc comp with 168 deadtime added over stock, and with this chip and the safc at -25 on the high map i was able to pull 11:1 afr at wot, however, shouldnt that be closer to around -14 to go from stock to 11:1? I know every car is different, but -25 is a lot imo.
So, i have this chip made by Wess Hess of Hess racing which i bought from a fellow member of this site. Not only is this chip set up for denso 660cc injectors and 2g maf, its also got a leaner wot fuel map set for 11:1 afr. Now, i do realize this would still obviously need some fine tuning, but ive got to go - 17 on the high map on the safc to achieve my 11:1 afr goal and thats just a little much imo.
I just dont see why im so rich at wot, it just sucks and im running out of ideas so if anyone can throw me some suggestions, id really appreciate it.
Thx, Charles
