97 ECU in a 95, 6 bolt swap

Pretty simple question, from what I've read all turbo ECU's will work in another turbo car. I also read that I might need to swap wires. Just wondering if that's right. I've got the RRE harness if that makes any difference.

Oh and the reason for swapping in the 97 ECU... I'm finally getting DSMlink! I have a parts car, and I need a car. So I figured I'd swap the ECU's until mine came back from socketing.

Just for a follow up, I was right. All that's needed is swapping wires. Car fired right up and seems to run better on the 97 ECU then my 95 ECU. No random misfire either *knock on wood*
 
Have you popped that 97 ecu open? I can 100% guarantee you that it's not an EPROM unit, which you need for DSMLink. I have a 97, and I recently swapped in a socketed EPROM 95 ecu with my DSMLink stuff. The car ran great for a few blocks, then the clutch went out.

Hahahaha, yeah Eprom's only came in the 95's. I know the 97 isn't an Eprom. I was only using the 97 ECU so I could drive my car while my Eprom was getting socketed. Capiche?
 
You can swap the plug wires, or even the 2 blue wires on the clip of the coil pack. If you get a random misifre, IE your car turning into a WRX sounding "slug", just leave your TPS unplugged until you get your socketed unit back. This will disable the ECU from checking for Random Misfires.
