I installed my new Zeitronix wideband unit into my car the other day, and for some reason i cant get my logging program to recognize that the wideband is plugged into my laptop. I am using the standard Zeitronix program that came with the wideband on my early 07 Dell laptop (windows XP). The program runs fine, but it wont actually log anything because it isnt sensing that the unit is plugged in. I am running a serialport -> USB adapter to plug in. The adaptor doesnt require drivers.

Has anyone had any experience with this unit? Can you offer any assistance?

Thanks in advance!

Match up the com ports in the zeitronix program with the correct port in the device manager list.

Yes first do what he said /\ /\ /\

I had and still have alittle problem getting the program to "see" my usb->serial port.
I tried running different Port Settings, I changed the "Bits per second" can't remember that I ended upp with.

Even now that I have the right port settings it's still doesn't connect very easy. You have to turn the pc and car on in a special order. Try different ways/orders.
Like:
1, trun on car
2, pug in cable
3, turn on pc
4, logger program

or
1, plug in cable
2, turn on pc
3, logger program
4, turn on car

I played around like that end then finaly it just started working.

To change port settings go to > control panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Ports (COM & LPT) > then click on the port you are using > Port Settings > and here you can change the "Bits per second".
