2G Mas in a Blow thru setup?

This may be a dumb question....if it is, start the bashingLOL

Has anyone tried using a 2g mas in a blow thru setup? If not, why wouldn't it work?
 
The only advantage to running blowthrough is to vent your bov, if that's all you want to do then you should be posting in the newbie forum.

To answer your question, no you can't run any of the stock maf sensors in blowthrough.
 
I am in no way a newbie. I know the benefits of recirculating the BOV. It's just a question. All you answered is "NO".....but why.

The thought behind my question is that it would more accurately represent the airflow and intake temp that the motor is actually seeing.
 
Becuase the DSM karman-votex MAF isn't designed to see positive pressure; it was made to suck the air threw it, hence the "vortex" part. If it doesn't read the air in this manner, it will not read correctly.
 
I don't. It is just a question to see if it is possible. Do you have anything helpful information to contribute?

And why would this be a newbie question? Because it is something that some people on here knows that alot of others may not?

I have done all the mods in the upgrade path besides a larger turbo....just because it isn't in the budget yet, but have every other supporting mod to put one on. I am also pretty proficient in tuning and eprom editing, so i think i am entitled to post in this section

All I did was ask you why you want to go blowthrough. I didn't break any of the rules. You broke a couple rules by posting your "newbie" question. It's been asked before, it's been answered before. It could've been found by searching. It's in the FAQ, which you obviously did not read. The only reason I can come up with is you want to vent to atmosphere. That's why I asked.
 
Eh, blow-thru setups make for "easier" intake routing, depending on what you want to do with it.

Just my .02 :)
 
I agree with that, it cleans up the engine bay a little bit as well.
 
I'm guessing that this would only work at relativly low boost since it would max out the barometric pressure sensor fairly early but evidently you can blow through a karmen style maf. Turbo setup on a 4cyl 3g eclipse. I remember a thread on here or talk about using the 3g as an upgrade for our cars as it flow similar to a Evo maf.

Probably not the best way of doing it, but it can work.
