I have been looking all over for an ECT test. Im not sure if my problem of finding it, is that it os not an ECT (engine coolant tempter sensor).

Well anyone know the specs for it?

thank you.

P.S

my book has a test for 95+ non turbo, but hell, that book sucks.

Got a multimeter? Measure the resistance of the two terminals on it. Then heat it and the resistance should change. You probably should have it out of the car, by the way. Now, I can't remember on our cars if the resistance rises as the temp rises, or if the resistance lowers as the temp rises. Either way, you'll see a noticeable change in the resistance.

I know that part of it.

What i need to know is the value it should be at. And a Voltage drop test also. I do not have a reference voltage right now. I don't know what the ECU should be supplying, and when.

The ECT sensor for the ECU should read 2450 ohms plus or minus 240 ohms at 68 degrees F. At 176 degrees F. it should have 296 ohms, plus or minus 32. I'm prety sure it's a 5 volt sensor.
