Getting datalogger to work

Here is my setup:

Palm IIIxe w/ O.S. 3.5. In the picture, I have my hotsync cable, gender converter, null adapter, then my datalogging cable.

I have tried every combination of the white/black/green wires into diagnostic ports 1, 10 and 12 and can't get it to read anything.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I have tried every combination of pins without using the null modem adapter.

Well you need to contact who made your cable or who you bought it from, and ask them about it. Usually most ALDL cables for the PALM's use the simple resister cable as they are cheap to build. One wire usually has another wire attached to it to ground out pin 10 and 12 and the other single wire is for pin 1.

Then their are the good cables that have a MAX232 IC in them that does the serial work instead of the palm and they have a power tap in them. Those are needed for Handspring and Clie's to operate as they don't have a powered serial bus as the palms do.
