aem fuel rail

i got a aem fuel rail and it said not to use teflon tape on the threds what else can i use if my fuel pressure guage leaks

There's a white teflon paste that is used for thread sealant. Haven't looked where to get it other than the Earl's shop near the racetrack.

I'm sure that you'll find a paste. Just make sure to check the back and see if it says anything about reacting with gas. If it doesn't say dont be afraid to put some gas in a small sealable container with some of the sealer and see if it eats it. I'm sure you would want to leave it in there for like a week.

Most thread sealants are fuel compatible, it will state it on the back of the container or tube. Loctite make good sealants for this purpose. the reason they dont like the use of teflon tape is because people put 6 miles of it on there right down to the the thread opening hole and when they screw it in most of if ends up in the fuel system!

I know its old, but for the searchers:

You don't use any sealer on AN fittings

Use a teflon paste that's ok with fuel. Just like with nitrous systems, you don't use the tape because it can flake away over time and end up making a solenoid stick, or in this case clog and injector, etc.
