i was wondering if anyone has heard of a converter that will attach to a simple a/f gauge to make it actually mean something...i thought i read something about that before but i cant seem to find it...just wondering if anyone here knows of it

Did you already get a Wide Band? I know that some vendors offer guages with there O2 kits, such as I have an Innovative, but there gauge is not ready yet. If you didn't get the O2 already, then I am sure someone on here can steer you in the right direction. If you did get one, I would tend to think by now, someone has either manufactured a converter, or has made a one off for there own purposes. Either way good luck.

How do you know which LED lights up at .94v and .92v? It's really worthless unless you ahve a gauge with an A/F readout on the gauge face, like the ones PLXDevices sells.

well the converter just changes the reading to a 1v...each specific light means a number, the only difference is that it isn't going to be easily desplayed in a digital form...this is obviously the cheaper way to go, or at least which makes the most sense if you already have the air/fuel gauge...i am just trying to save the money and make this gauge actually mean something...but i am a little nervous on how accurate it is going to be or at least to trust this thing since i called Autometer and the technician says he has never heard of PLX and has not confirmed the product with Autometer...so im not sure what i want to do, i have to do some research on it

yeah thanks guys for posting and thanks Jokeri for sending me the link, i just understand how expensive wideband is and i was hoping someone just came out with a way to get the same abilities just cheaper since i already had the gauge...i just talked to my buddy who owns a speed shop and a 10 sec. supra may i add...FuzionAuto.com if you want to check him out, and he said the same thing, it still isn't going to be accurate and would never use it...so thanks a lot guys and i hope someone sees this posting and never buys that PLX device

That product from PLX can be useful if you use it with a wideband o2 sensor, which they sell. I wouldn't put down their product until you've used it. :thumbdown

If it works as described, it interpolates each LED based on .5:1 of a fuel mixture starting at 19.5:1 and ending at 10:1. 20:1 is represented by nothing lit. I'm not saying it's a bad product, just that it's pretty useless in the scope of tuning. I don't need to use it to know that it's not going to be enough resolution, and since the LEDs aren't labelled on the original gauge, telling your mixture at a glance won't be the easiest thing in the world. However, the mixture does "mean something", just "not much". So to answer the original question, this is what you seem to be looking for.
