Has anyone tried raising their fuel pressure by "crushing" the FPR? Like the BOV, it relies on a spring to set the pressure. I'm thinking of doing it to get a little more unmetered fuel into the engine for free, then doing some slight hacking on the MAF to get the A/F ratio right. I have a pocketlogger to check the fuel trims, an upgrade fuel pump, a fp gage, some spare time, and no money! Think it'll work?

What's the reason you need a higher fuel pressure??

I'm not sure about crushing it but if your FPR is like mine with a spring pushing against a diaphram, you can use a srcew to put into your FPR to adjust fuel pressure.

Gotta pic and or a diagram of you FPR??

I don't have a picture, but it's the stock dsm fpr. the spring is seated with one end on the diaphram and the other end on the fpr housing. If I just put a screw in the end, like I've seen at the track on other cars, the screw will just go down the center of the spring until it hits the diaphram. I want to increase the spring preload/ tension so that it continues to vary fuel pressure with maniford pressure.

Yes you can crush them. I have been doing that for years. However you have to be very careful... too much crush and you just ruined it. You have to do it a very small amount. And make sure you have access to a spare just in case.
