ok here is the problem. I have kinda stock 97 except 3"cat back. When I come on the the boost at lower rpm not romping on it but easing into the throttle I feel at about 2psi or so the car start to bog and if I continue flooring it the car just bogs unless I tap the gas, then the car moves just fine. Now the rpm's go up like normal engine little louder and turbo spools like normal i'm just not going anywhere at all. I have had some people try to help but it remains a mystery because it only happens sometimes. I did a compression test and it was 178 across the board, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, bosst leak tested everything and came up with none, new plugs+wires ngk's, new cone K&N air filter, new cam angle sensor, cleaned injectors, knock sensor, and a new o2 sensor. I don't know what else it could be unless it is an fpr or tps sensor. Could it be? Any help would be great. Thankyou, :dsm: Josh

i was wondering, is blow off valve vented to the atmosphere or recirculated back into the intake?

When this happens the car just feels piss slow? And if you let off and get back in it it goes to normal? If that is the case it sounds like another case of phantom knock. My car does it until it warms up all the way and it is a big pain in the ass. Do you have a logger? If so log the car at random times and watch the logs when it happens, I bet your timing goes down harder than Aurora Snow at the same time. Unfortunately since no one really knows what causes it it's almost impossible to fix. Some have suggested that it has something to do with noisy lifters and that switching to the new style lifters will help, it may not. My car only ticks when I first start it when it's really cold outside and then goes away so I don't think it's causing it in my car. Good luck. :thumb:

it is a manual and I am running the bov back into the intake. When you do a boost leak test is it normal for some of the pressure to come out of the valve cover breather hose?

as long as the air goes through the tube and back into the intake. if you want to get rid of the tube i recommend buying a catch can.

and yes it is normal because pressure does enter through the valve cover into that tube and back through the intake but unfortunatly so does some oil.

No its not normal, your pcv isnt working. Make sure you get a mitsu pcv because the auto-stores generic pcv all leak.

Well I pulled my pcv off and it leaked pretty bad. So could that cause a boost leak, therfore causing a bogging??? I am going to go get an oem pcv I will keep you all updated. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Holy crap! That fixed my bogging problem! I have replaced almost everything on the engine to fix that bogging problem. The problem was it was a schucks pcv valve and it leaked horribly and it was only like 6 months old. If any of you are having a bogging problem and it only happens sometimes try replacing your pcv valve. And not with a autozone or schucks pcv they leak. :thumb: :thumb: :dsm:
