at what point of modding do you think a dsmlink is a good upgrade?

well i was just thinking about cost diff of a dsmlink and a maft.if you dont already have a eprom, it could be like 500 bucks diff! i was wondering at what point of modding you guys thought it would be good to go for dsmlink? i know its kinda a vague q but there must be some kind of blurry "mod line". like a certain amount of psi, or whatever hp for what ever reason. please dont just reply and just say that it will give you full control over your ecu and you can start "really tuning". im sure the link will help much more for the serious modders than near stockers.so when do you guys think that dsmlink should be added to the upgrade list? at what point of modding would you get it? :talon:

As soon as you need to be able to log and have some control of your fuel and or ignition timing, it is a good time for dsmlink or any other tuning systems that fufill your needs.

My car is at the limit of the stock injectors and I've been holding off on getting any tuning devices until the DSMLink is made publicly available for the 1G's. The ability to control timing is a big plus for me.
I wouldn't say my car is at the "serious modders" point yet but I'm trying to build a foundation for future power. Besides, I'd much rather learn to use DSMLink with the 14B so that when I upgrade I'm already familiar with the software.
My vehicle profile is up to date and my next two mods are 660's and DSMLink. :thumb:

If I were to do it again DSMLink would have been one of the first things I'd buy. It is invaluable as a tuning and monitoring tool even on a nearly stock car.

I'll be ordering DSMlink here in a couple weeks, and my car is not too far from stock (mods in profile). I think it's always a good idea to learn how to tune well on what you already have before upgrading to larger turbos and such. I honestly think I might be able to squeeze a few more ponies out of the t25 with dsmlink (once I learn to tune well, of course) :p . The sooner you can see what is really going on with your car, the better off you'll be :thumb:

Simply put, before you get rid of the T25.

I agree- get DSMLink . . . practice tuning w/ the T25 . . . then go out and upgrade the Turbo :D Because honestly, there's not a WHOLE lot you can tune on the T25, but it's good for training/experimentation.
