okay, finally did some runs today. first good runs around town that i've had since installing my new setup. mods are here... http://members.cardomain.com/v8s_are_slow

anyway, was running at 20psi. i'm in florida but it was kinda cool out tonight.

rpm- 7438
timing- 27
knock- 22
fuel trim low- 85
fuel trim med- 104
fuel trim high- 82

rpm- 5813
timing- 19
knock- 30
fuel trim low- 85
fuel trim med- 104
fuel trim high- 82

rpm- 7031

knock- 27
fuel trim low- 85
fuel trim med- 104
fuel trim high- 82

okay what the heck. the knock is pretty high up there. i kept adjusting the knobs on my translator but the trims never moved. dunno how long it's suppose to take. but i'd think i'd be a lil rich. so trying to figure out why i'd have so much knock. unless of course being rich is causing the knock. is that possible?!?!? my O2's were as high as .94. so i dunno. and if i came to a stop and let the rpm's drop too fast, it'll just shut down.

also, another thing. as far as coolant temp goes, i was averaging about 207 (at night on the highway). i was in town and stopped at the car wash and it got up to 229. um, that's a bit warm right? probably need to get a new radiator?

last thing, when i was going wot, i noticed a good bit of smoke. now i can't figure out if it's coming from the wastegate dump tube and that i'm running way rich, or what (got out and looked but nothing was leaking that i could see. no oil etc.). as soon as i let off the gas, it went away after a few seconds. i can't see if anything's coming outta the end of the exhaust of course so not real sure. anyway, hope to get some feedback. thanks in advance.

Learn tuning basics to fix your trims. Do you even know how to use the MAF-t?

As for your coolant temp, that's not good. The only time my temps went anywhere near that high was when I had a blown head gasket and exhaust gasses where pushing into the coolant. Start with changing to a new Mitsu thermostat. see if that helps.

um, well, i've followed all the instructions given etc. but yes i'm kinda new to it. as stated above,"new setup". but not sure how long it's suppose to take for the fuel trims to start moving. cause i drove like 60 miles or more and they never changed. hmmm.....

no response to my other questions? could the fact that i'm running rich cause knock?

oh yeah, and i have the translator in my console so that i can make adjustments easily.

Yes you could be rich. That would explain the idle problem when you come to a stop.

Did you read the tuning guide on the fullthrottlespeed forums? Here

What are you settings right now on the MAFT? aux/base and idle, mid, wot

okay i thought that maybe i was turning the knobs in the wrong direction. maybe, maybe not. was turning (for example) the WOT knob in the counterclockwise direction but that's when the fuel trim high started going low. got to thinkin that maybe i was turning them in the wrong direction but the tuning guide confirms that i was turning it in the right direction (leaning it out) but i'm gonna try the other direction and see if it helps. thinkin about it last night, the fuel trims got richer as i turned the knobs. oh well. but just didn't know that running rich could cause knock (if it can) so it's been messing up my head trying to figure out what's going on.
