just installed 50 trim, check out my log please

hey guys, i just ditched the b16g and installed my pte 50 trim. .63a/r, 50 trim compressor wheel, 76 trim turbine wheel. welp i been tuning it a bit and i wanted your more experienced tuners opinions. first of all i have my base fuel at 47 psi. for this particular log i had my base fp at 48psi. 60 degree night, 23 pounds of boost on 93 octane. i logged a third gear pull. now as far as i read people are saying more boost less timing. but i would not want anything lower than 18 degrees advance at reline, id rather 19 at 7,000. but let me know your opinions.

RPM TIMING O2BANK1
3761 25 .06
3851 24 .78
3957 22 .80
4089 18 .86
4257 14 .90
4414 11 .92
4585 10 .94
4781 10 .94
4960 9 .94
5128 9 .96
5304 11 .96
5476 12 .96
5636 13 .96
5804 14 .96
5992 15 .96
6164 16 .96
6308 16 .94
6441 17 .96
6621 17 .96
6750 18 .96
6886 18 .96
6996 18 .96
7121 18 .96

NOW IM TUNING WITH A SAFC2, if i leaned it out nemore on my safc, my o2's would go down a lil but then i wouldnt get decent timing advance. by decent timing advance, i mean at least 18 degrees at redline with no dips in the timing. but if i richened it up a bit like +2 % i would get like 19-20 degrees timing advance by redline with .98 o2 voltages. from what i see i should drop the fuel pressure at idle a bit.

but two nights ago i was tuning with 47 psi base fuel pressure on a 50 degree night at 22 psi on 93 octane and i was seeing .94 o2 voltages with 20-21 degrees timing advance by redline. can someone give me some good advice here? thanks guys

That log looks real good, I would just leave it how you've got it.

lowridin,

have you taken your car to a dyno lately? Your timing looks good, but i'd be curious what your A/F curve is looking like.

Also, if you have the money, I'd recommend getting DSMLink.

peace,
-Dave

update:

welp on pretty much the same safc settings and 22 psi on pump gas i went to the track. i ran a 12.6 @ 107mph, then a 12.6 @ 109 mph, third i ran a 13.1 @ 109 mph bogged the launch bad, and last a 12.522 @ 111.87 mph. id say the tuning is pretty good.

but i also assume knock is present. not every log but about 2 out of 4 logs up top about 6,000 - 7,000 i will a 1 degree dip in my timing, but then it will go back up. for instance lets say 6100 17 deg- 6200 16 deg - 6300 16 deg - 6400 17 deg - 6600 18 deg - 6700 18deg - 6800 18 deg- 6900 18 deg - 7000 19 deg.

now thats not an actual log but that is an example of what does occur when i get the dips in timing up top. so im assuming its only a few counts of knock if its only dipping down 1 degree then preceeding to advance afterwards. and also the fact it doesnt dip in every log. sometimes it will be a steady advance, sometimes it will look like something above. getting a wideband for xmas, cant wait to see my a/f ratio.

EDIT: this is on a 43 psi base fuel pressure. which is where im keeping it form now on, with the fuel pressure up at about 47 psi when i first was tuning the 50 trim i had a way overly rich cruising conditon all fixed now though

+1 I want to see how man lbs/min your flowing at that boost.

And your vehicle profile says you have a meth kit. Where your running the meth kit at the time?

You know this thread is 3 1/2 years old, right? Plus, the original poster hasn't been online in 8 months so I doubt you'll get a response.

What is going on with the 10* and 9* timing between 4400 and 5160? I don't remember seeing that on my logs? Just a question?

You timing will always drop as the turbo reaches full spool. In this case it does look like the poster was spooling later than they should have been. I would have been curious to see when they actually reached full spool, since it looks like it was about 5k.
