I have several DSM's, but I am wondering if I could run 550cc injectors with the stock (modified) MAS sensor without an AFC or AFR? If so are there other ways to lean out the system eniugh? Any help here would be great I can run the stock 450's, but was wondering. I am just trying to use my old stuff, for a winter car with a couple of more berries. Also any way to eliminate fuel cut, or trick the ECU so that it will not happen until 7000 or 7500 rpm? Please keep in mind that I do not mind spending money on my cars, but this project is all about making the most out of what I already have. thanks for the help.

The car is a 1990 GS-T that I picked up dirt cheep, and I have an asortment of left over go fast goodies from previous upgrades on other cars (90 talon awd, and a 93 GSX) that I have marked for the GST like a ported ex man, 16g, O2 housing, 2.5" turbo back exhaust, turbonetics detlagate, HKs superpower flow & a K&N, UIC pipe, Ported head, and intake, Denzo fuel pump, and the 550's.

I think you can't tell top from bottom? Can you tell time? can you do anything?

You wanna flame... fine... You should have just realised you made a mistake and appologised, however....

You sir are a dumbass plain and simple. When I posted that (check the time) the thread was below this one. After that a new reply was put in that thread (check the time) that made it jump to the top of the list (ie above yours).

I just can't beleive anyone would post a new topic without searching for one thing.... but to post one exactly the same as one currently active in the same friggin forum is beyond me. Does your mother still dress and feed you? Are you legally allowed out of your house without a helmet?

So here I am wasting time with some f*&% Stick who knows nothing about fuel tuning a DSM which is what the forum for "in case you forgot", but has plenty of insite on etiquette. You must be #@%#@%#@% or a female. So here's the deal if you can not awnser the question then do not respond, however I feal that this is well above your petty idoscryncrocies and you will not be able to let it go.

"idoscryncrocies" Is that anything like idiosyncrasies??? If you are going to use big words to impress... at least spell them right :thumb:. p.s. I don't care about my spelling I'm not trying to impress anyone.

You hit it right on the head there... wasting time. The "etiquette" is to stop you from wasting all our time.

My point is that you should have used the other thread and not wasted the rest of the boards time. Do you really think people will see 2 of the same thread and take time to reply to each if they ask the same question. No they won't. Just like me they read it and say great another noob that wants to be spoon fed. They then skip your thread (and probably the other too) and you lose out. That's why I pointed you to the other thread.

"So here I am wasting time with some f*&% Stick who knows nothing about fuel tuning a DSM"

Kids ... you don't know me so don't assume anything. I can help you a great deal since I have 550s, an AFC and am one of the best DSM resources for hacking the 1G MAF up. But instead of just taking the right path you decided to flame back. So I decided to use you as an example. The older DSM crowd is getting more and more sick of people who want to be spoon fed. The end result is that we are leaving the boards... who loses out... you because we take our experience with us. If you want us to reply the least you can do is a little searching yourself first. Effort in = effort out.

Okay I've been pretty rough on ya so here's a bone. You will be able to get your car to run with 550s and no fuel computer... but it will be very difficult to get it to run well (better). Your options are to lean it out by means of modifying the barometeric pressure and intake air temp sensor inputs as well as hacking out the lower portion of the MAF. I would not do this without a datalogger though. You need to do it in stages hacking a bit then logging a bit etc. Or converting to a 2G MAF and 550s at the same time results in a pretty good match. Be warned that when hacking you will not get linear results and you may have to look into flapper doors and such to raise the airflow at lower rpms while keeping them lower at higher rpms.

Now since you are talking about a 90 you are going to have a really really hard time making it work without a computer since your fuel trims are limited to 80%~120%. So getting the fuel trims to stay in range throughout all driving conditions is going to be even harder then the 91s~94s since thier fuel trims can adjust even more (60%~140%). If you have to worry about emissions testing or gas mileage you should be concerned about this. If your only goal is to get your car running somewhat durring closed loop but running harder durring open loop wot runs you can probably get there with some work.

Not worth it in my opinion... save up for the S-AFC. A freind of mine tried this sort of thing with just 510s and couldn't get a satisfactory result.

"Also any way to eliminate fuel cut, or trick the ECU so that it will not happen until 7000 or 7500 rpm? "

Yes... reduce the airflow the ECU is seeing or reprogram the fuel cut limit. A little searching may have landed you this page.

Please in the future put a little more effort in.

Thank you for the info. Nobody likes getting flamed, but I am no fool either. This was only the second question I have asked on this forum, which I found only a couple of weeks ago. Eventhough I have owned, modified, and raced DSM's since 1992. Could have used you guys long ago. A sugestion from you that I do a search first ( since I am just learning this site) is fine, but you IMO did not need to go off on me about it.

Thanks again for the information. for the record I do not like to be spoon feed, and in the future I will look for similar questions before asking new ones.

See the other thread for my input.

Mike J. is like a pioneer in fuel/1G MAS tuning, I think he knows what he is talking about.

BTW, Mike, love the signature

STFU  and listen to those who know what they are talking about. those who post in response to fuel related question would not respond if they did not know that they were talking about.

exactly Quacylla is one of the more knloedgable members.

Okay it's been settled... he's just learning the ropes of the forums. Welcome :). Consider this your initiation.

cool i just hate it when those with a *decent attitude* and vast dsm experience get pushed away from helping the board as a whole by people who dont have a clue. most times experience and being a dick for some strange reason go hand and hand. Quacylla thanks again for helping out, and mostly being a nice guy in doing it

Ok I admit that I should have researched my question first. However crucifying the newbies, because they don't know all the rules yet can't be a good thing. Thanks for the information "Mike". For the time being on this car I will run the 450's. After all it is just my Michigan winter to work and back car.

Also as someone who also does tech support, I know that awnsering the same questions over and over is madding.

Thanks again
Joe

This POS wrote me and said that I was "crucifying newbies" in this thread. Does anyone see where the fu@k that happened? Don't e-mail me anymore, you overly sensitive crybaby.

OK

Mike, Batman, you guys are right. There is the same exact thread 3 posts down. Either way at this point useful info has been given so lets just drop it.

jeez, you try to flame Batman on this?? His first reply was by far the most patient, civil and overall nice reply I have ever seen from him, considering the subject matter of your previous posts. You should consider yourself lucky to get off so lightly, yet you email him and yell at him for being pleasant to you?

And oh, wait, you came here for help from us, for free right?? Christ, I'd hate to have you as a paying customer :)

Are the mods allowed to move/merge/combine threads? This would save ALOT of arguments over topics already discussed. Just my 0.02.

Before I got my AFC, I was running 550cc injectors with the stock MAS for more than a month. WIth the stock fuel pump, it wasnt too bad, but I did replace my spark plugs after a while because they were a little fried from running so rich. I didnt modify my MAS at all. But don't make the same mistake I did... i got bullied into putting in the bigger fuel pump as well before i put on a bigger turbo and that is the besdt way i have found to make my car run like absolute...junk...
