BLAHA on stock fuel system
Is the Blaha modded MAS a good choice to go with on a stock 1G fuel system. All I have is a fuel pump re-wire on a stock pump. What other supporting mods would be needed to run efficiently on a prety stock system (i.e. larger injectors, fuel management, fuel pressure reg.?) Been searching forums for the answer but just can't seem to find anything that would help my setup. Was thinking about runnin a 2G mas but after reading bout' the Blaha mod and everyones opinion on the two, I believe it would be easier to run the Blaha. Just need a good push in the right direction.

Blaha mas is fine to run on stock fuel system...no worries. Depends ho wmuch boost you running on the 14b alos. I think that anyone that runs more than 15psi (efficiently) daily should have, fuel pump, rewire at aleist. You should be fine with it, its not going to hurt anything at all.

I ran a Blaha on a basically stock car forever... no issues. I recommend it. Just make sure it is done right if you don't actually go to Al for the MAS hack.

Hey BatmanGSX, I just read on another thread (550's no AFC) where you had a post saying an AFC would not tune too perfectly because it has a 2D tuning device. Well, how would it work out on a Blaha w/ 550's on a ported 14B such as mine. What I'm trying to say is ; what do you think would tune my setup in better once I get some 550's (soon!)?

You can make the AFC tune better than what people currently do. The problem is not with the 2D tuning but the way people set it up with the AFC now is that it has no sense of LOAD. You tune based on RPM vs Throttle position. If you think about it, throttle position is not a good way to tune because you can have 100% throttle (when you first stomp on it) but you may not have built boost yet. Therefore you will see it running rich at tip-in. On the other hand, using a MAP sensor with the AFC can make the tuning more interesting because you can tune RPM vs Boost. Using the wire that you hook up to the throttle position, you hook it up to the MAP sensor. This way, you wont have that tip in problem like the normal setup. However, the way to tune things would also change because you dont tune TP vs RPM anymore.
I definitely wont run Blaha w/ 550s without some kind of fuel control. You would at least want to have a logger to see how the fuel trims look like. What's the point of running 550s with a 14b? Our stock fuel system can handle even a 16g if you have the right mods (AFPR, S-AFC + logger).

Note the use of the word "perfect". The AFC is still the best, most cost effective solution out there.
