I was looking over the instructions on the installation of the S-AFC and it says that it is very important that you keep the brown wire before the black wire or else it may result in improper product operation and engine damage.

If the wires aren't put in the right order, will it damaga the S-AFC as well???

Thankx in adavance

I know but I purchased my 99% S-AFC new and the guy who sold it to me said he only used it once which makes me wonder why he wants to sell it to begin w/..... that's why I'm wondering if it's possible the S-AFC might me faulty. :(

then i wouldn't buy it, i've been screwed before, and it hurts!

if you can't pass up this deal then ask him how he installed it, ie- what wires went where, etc. if you don't get a clear answer then decline the offer.

NOt saying you should buy it because there could be something wrong with it, but it won't be because of the brown/black wires. It is funny that they require one to be "closer" to the ECU than the other. Fact is, they are both grounds and the only reason for attaching two is to be sure of an accurate ground. Since the ECU is dealing with millivolt signals, a very slight contact resistance or a difference in potential can impose large errors in your "millivolt" reading.

So, you cannot mess up an SAFC by having the brown/black wires closer or farther away from the SAFC. It would only effect the operation of the SAFC and may cause some error in the corrections to gives the ECU.

just got the afc installed today and it works fine.... the only thing i don't understand is why my throttle % is always at zero.....
