Ok, I have a problem here:

I'm installing 450cc injectors in my Non-turbo Eclipse and I want to know what I can do to reduce the amount of fuel that goes into the motor.

I'm used to only tuning carburetors and it's honestly my first time dealing with injectors.

If I lower the fuel pressure, will this make less fuel come out of the injectors?

Besides installing a SAFC, what else can be done to lean out the motor?

Can I just install a Turbo ECM that's regulated for the turbo injectors without actually installing a turbo?

Also my car hits redline or fuel cut (?) with the stock 240cc injectors at 6K RPM, is this a indication that the motor is running lean?

What do you hope to gain from doing this? You aren't going to make more power on your N/T that way. The stock injectors are plenty unless your turbo-ing it.

actually....you hit that fuel cut at 6000 cause your running too much fuel....(too rich)...i have that same problem with my vr-4 galant....but it's turbo....and it only has that fuel cutoff problem at full throttle past 6000....i still need to learn how to tune this damn S-AFC

you don't hit fuel cut from running too rich, but from running close to 100% injector duty cycle, which means you rev more and you will run too LEAN and the computer cuts fuel to prevent a lean condition, never to prevent a rich condition

its not because you hit 100% duty cycle either. my stock injectors often times run at 23-25ms on the logger. 20ms is 100% so i have been upto around 125% already.

the way to eliminate fuel cut is to lower the amount of air that flows past the meter inside the MAS. fuel cut is caused by too much air flowing past that meter, the ECU can not compensate fuel for that amount of air and BAM!! fuel cut.

so by lowering the amount of air past the meter, you will eliminate fuel cut but at the same time. you will run leaner..........

Good info, so let's say I leave a vaccum hose disconnected, like the one that plugs into the rubber intake elbow. Will this account for extra air? or will it just create a nasty idle surge?

You don't need 450s. You just don't. They are too big for your car and there is no need for them. Your N/A will never suck in enough air to utilize those. Keep your stockers. The 450s are 87% larger than the stockers, even with an AFC set to -50% across the board you would still be getting 37% too much fuel. That's unthinkable.

Knowing that, if you still put the 450s in you are the biggest idiot on the planet.

like Batman said, just don't do it!

My engine is running close to 300hp, and it is on 450cc injectors. Your n/a engine will be lucky to do half of that with out going all out, and making a complete race motor out of it. Even with a header, and full exaust, with a good air intake and filter, I think maybe 160hp is pretty optimistic.

You do need enough fuel for the hp you are making, BUT you need the rest of your engine to be able to USE that extra fuel in order to make the power.

the 450s on your stock or mildly modded atmospheric engine would be like slapping a 650 Holley double pumper on a 3.0l V6 stocker outta a Taurus.

best of luck, but take our advise and put the stock injectors back in.
