Best setting for the Turbo XS manual boost controler for minimal turbo lag?

What do you guys have your manual boost controler set at to reduce turbo lag? I did it how the instructions told me, but I have some serrious lag. I have my boost set at 15 psi, and that holds well, maybe I have another problem that is causing the lag. Thanks

the boost controller doesn't effect the lag. i have a turbo XS controller on mine and i can set it all over the place and it doesn't effect lag. your wastegate might be hanging open a little bit, that would give you a little more lag. or maybe a boost leak. i would check for boost leak first. the best way to do it is presurize the system at the turbo inlet and listen for leaks.

When are you hitting 15 psi ?

Maybe a crack in your exhaust manifold??

You are probably right about it being a boost leak, or a cracked manifold. I am running the stock exhaust mani, I want a full tubular one, but will probably just get a ported evo. I will check for boost leaks tonight. I hit 15 psi at around 5500 - 6000 rpm.

The 1g manifolds are known to crack, mine was so bad that I could only get 11psi at 6000rpm, I put on a ported 95 and now by 3100 I get full boost.

Check for any pre-turbo exhaust leaks, or the wastegate being open (no preload).
