friday night street legal, island dragway
Hey I'm running my talon this friday in great meadows, nj at island dragway. I'm shooting for the 12's so any dsmer in the area that can come and run or even watch, I could use the support!

I guess I can post an update on this for Justin since he hasn't yet. Wednesday night the new wideband was installed and then on Thursday we took it out for some tuning on dsmlink. Got the car happy with a/f ratios and started to get the timing set without much knock and then the clutch pedal went to the floor and wouldn't come up. Clutch master was leaking and we decided to just do the master and slave. Got everything in and bled and come to find out that the clutch fork was almost into the bell housing and the clutch wasn't disengaging. A new clutch set up with all the fixings is on the way now and we'll be at the track within the next 2-3 weeks.

I want to go however no one wants to join me. Justin is fighting the junkiest clutch pedal i've seen yet since the new clutch install and my car needs to be kept in one piece just incase his breaks so we can make it to work. Besides my car won't break into 13's without slicks. I'm not buying them so that car is done for the track for the most part. Although since its nice out I have one hell of an itch to run.

What a bad night. 1st run launch and clutch sticks to the floor. I'm hoping it's just my master cylinder.
There was a nice red 1g there though

That sucks. Kinda what happened to my buddies when we were out tuning it. Laer that night we found out EVERYTHING needed to be replaced. Now the clutch pedal sucks and engages maybe a 1/4 inch off the floor.

I'll be there not next weekend but the weekend after, the 10th. That should be friday. I just gotta get a little more of a clutch pedal first. I can drive around town but I can't bang gears quite yet, plus I gotta get back to tuning with dsmlink.

Justin really needs to update this for everyone to brag about what happened on the 3rd and 4th runs of the night with his car.
Anyone own the kitted 1g that had some bad runs and then all of a sudden pulled off an amazing run and then had some bad runs again?
The guy that used to own DSMotorsports was also there with a galant vr4 running 12.5 religously all night. A guy from NY with a blue evo was running 11.2 and 11.8 passes all night which was just nuts for as street friendly as it looked. I also so a burgundy 1g awd pull into the pits but didn't see it run and the same goes for a dark silver 2g talon awd that pulled in but never ran.

I was there too and had a bad night. I've done 6 pulls with a major wheel spin on 1st gear so I just let off and cruise the whole 1/4 mile. Thats taking off at 3.5k rpm. Towards the end of the night when its finally grabing my exhaust leak from the manifold to turbo got worsed and my BBK throttle body broke off so I was on 1/2 throttle the whole 1/4 mile. 8 runs and I did 1 not soo bad run. But wifes run a consistent 12.5 on our Evo, atleast one of us did good. Anyways, I'll be ready by next week so hopefully theres more of you to come. I'm gonna call out some of the members from Evo forums too.
Does anybody know what happen to the 2g with a huge FMIC. I heard he broke an axle or something.

I guess you must be talking about me with the drift body kit? If yes then the whole reason is a major wheel spin on 1st. I'm there to aim for a better time and everytime my car burnout at first I always let off. No sense on going all the way. So I just cruise to the end and line back up. Somehow the track just got stickier towards the end. But its already too late for me, the bad luck just filed up to where I just cant run it anymore. Be back next week thou Later

I wasn't doin to good on friday either. My trans wouldn't go into any gear, it would just grind. I did get one run where only 3rd gear wouldn't go in and I managed to get a 12.93 @ 105 and my best 60 foot of the night was a 1.6 so atleast I know I have a 12 second car!

That would be me. Yeah broke an axle went back sunday and spun most of the way down the track. Ran once before more problems. Love dsm's . Did 14.08 at 110. Hope to get the car running right and have some new drag radials or slicks. Got traction? Will be back in two weeks. Raining today and carlisle next week. Hope to see more dsmers there
